Day 9 - July 15

Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh castle sits atop one of the 7 hills that makes up the High Street / Royal Mile. It’s an imposing structure that has been an official royal castle since the 11th century.

The Edinburgh Ghost Tour was great for many reasons, but the tour guide was what made it special. A local himself, our guide took on the presence of one of the many historical residents of Edinburgh and walked the group through some of the seedier bits of history including the way waste was handled, the plagues, the grave robbing, murdering of travellers to sell them to the medical university, the crime underground during the victorian era, and much more.

We capped off our tour of Scotland with a blowout dinner. As with all things, some of our Scouts decided to make it a competition to see who could eat the most. See if you can guess the winner.
