Day 5-13 - July 20-28

Blair Atholl, Scotland

Starting on Day 2 of the Jamborette, each Scout gets to choose activities from the list available for their subcamp. There is a badge to be earned by doing activities across all of the program areas, to encourage scouts to try something they might not normally do. Our Scouts were spread between 3 subcamps and each picked a variety of activities each day. Instead of detailing each day, there are a variety of pictures to show what our Scouts participated in over the course of the Jamborette.

Our Scouts and their Scottish counterparts were awarded the Camp Chief’s Pennant from this morning’s inspections. This is given to the one patrol scoring highest on inspections across the entire camp.

Between weeks, 500 younger Scottish Scouts set up a satellite camp and as many as 2000 visitors came to experience Blair.

Blair offers a number of social events for the Scouts while at the Jamborette. Our Scouts participated in all of them to include Neon Night at the Kastle (a massive party tent that houses the inside activities during the day, and the social events in the evening), Pirate Party, Karaoke Night, a Rave, and much more.

The were many community events like the Country Fayre, a Scouts Own Service, International Games, BBQ Nicki (int he subcamps), Christmas in July, Patrol Leaders Breakfast, and much more.

On the last day of activities, there was a Burns Supper  followed by the Ceilidh (pronounced Kay-lee), a traditional Scottish dance involving a lot of motion and probably a few bruises.
