Day 4 - July 19

Edinburgh to Blair Atholl, Scotland

We were up bright and early this morning to clean up the hall, pack up, and meet our scheduled bus at 9am. We were the second group to board, after the Germany contingent, and made our way to another Scout Hall to pick up the contingent from the Netherlands. What followed was the Germans singing some of their Scouting songs, our contingent jumping in with “When You’re Happy and You Know It”, then a Bluetooth speaker appeared and the rest of the trip was full-blown karaoke. Everyone had fun... even those sleeping!

Suddenly we were pulling up to the Jamborette front gate where luggage was unloaded, our patrols and adults went off to check in, and the  youth headed off to their subcamps. Each group was introduced to their Scottish counterparts, helped to set up their gear, and introduced to how the flow of activity would go in their subcamp.

To begin the Jamborette, two Scouts were selected from each country to bring out their national flag. Our contingent was selected for this honor for the USA. After a brief campfire, the subcamps all went back and had their own subcamp fire. That was the end of the program for the day.
