Day 1&2 - July 16&17

Travel from Baltimore, Maryland to Edinburgh, Scotland

Our Scouts arrived at Baltimore Washington International Airport bright-eyed and filled with excitement for the adventure ahead. There were many well-wishes and pictures taken as excited parents and Scouts said their goodbyes and we began our excursion.

From Baltimore, we traveled to Heathrow Airport (just outside London) where, unfortunately, we had a 9-hour layover waiting for our second flight that would take us to Eadinburgh. Although the length of our stay was extremely long, the Scouts managed to fill the time with conversation getting to know one another better, playing on their phones, exploring the terminal shops, experiencing British cuisine, and LOTS of sleeping as most of them were too excited to sleep on the first flight. Eventually our second flight took us to Edinburgh where we met up with two of our Scouts who had been visiting family in England. We had our own version of planes, trains, and automobiles and finished off the trip arriving at the 31st Pentland (Juniper Green) Scout Hall at 45 Lanark Rd W, Currie EH14 5JX. Our Scouts explored the Sainsbury's Fuel Station Market, we picked up the supplies to make dinner, and went about settling in to our accommodations and preparing dinner. We had an impromptu "PLC" that evening to plan out the activities for the following day.
